Two SMU Engaged Learning proposals were submitted for this project. Both proposals received full funding up to $2000 as deemed necessary by the project.
Austin Flanagan’s proposal covers the mechanical design of an autonomous drone delivery system. Austin’s work will include the design of physical modifications required to hold a pizza safely underneath a drone as well as the drop mechanism. Austin’s final report can be viewed here.
Edward Li’s proposal covers the software and electrical design for an autonomous drone delivery system. Edward’s work will include the flight testing and electronics evaluation of the PX4/Pixhawk as well as TI MSP432 Launchpad platforms. It will also include any software modifications and the designing of any middleware required to interface between the hardware and the TI platform. Edward’s final report can be viewed here.
